One of my all-time favorite movies is Coming to America. I was born in Queens, lived there for 7 years, and got married to "She's Your Queen to Be."Read More

A Dream AirBnB in Joshua Tree.
I've spent my birthday in NJ with my family, in New Orleans, and in LA. Feeling really adult this year at this Joshua Tree AirBnB. It is so incredibly peaceful and quiet here, and the home owners couldn't be nicer (and have better taste).
Abe rented this magnificent home in the desert to celebrate...
...it is the perfect place for us because it's not too large (1650 square feet) and allows dogs. They can run around outside in the enclosed yard. Julius is happy as can be. We are surrounded by views of the High-Desert mountain ranges of the Mojave Desert.
There is also a crazy good DVD collection with a projector! We are watching Edward Scissorhands in a house that looks like Tim Burton set designer built it on Christmas - what could be better, seriously?!?
The house has an incredible, fully stocked kitchen (where I've been cooking up a storm)...
...more on that Pear Gingerbread cake later. I've got a lot of celebrating (and by that, I mean relaxing) to do. Happy Christmas Eve!
Here is information about the house - sometimes it isn't listed but look up "Holiday House on the Landers Vortex." It is near the Integratron.
Thanks to everyone who came to the Surrogate Valentine screening last night - Nue Studio's Salon was converted into a little movie theater!
It was great to meet readers (like Julian)...
…who brought me these delicious Chocolate-Covered Macadamia Nuts from Hawaii!
I enjoyed two, and shared with everyone else at the Nue Cafe bar.
Already seen the film a couple times, so after doing a random intro, I ordered bowl of quinoa...
…with arugula, onion, edamame, carrots, and white wine dressing.
Also went to town on this popcorn! It was just regular Microwave Butter...
…but it tasted extra special!
(I let Abe share a handful too.)
The digital copy got stuck during the last minute - I had to go in and narrate the ending...
…good thing it's also available on Amazon!
