From the title of this post, it sounds like I'm writing about some place in Los Angeles but in fact I'm still writing about Kaohsiung, Taiwan! 85 Sky Tower was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Look at the view from our corner room!
Our bus driver (lovingly nicknamed Watermelon Peel) drove us to the nearby Pier 2 Art Center and Banana Warehouse.
This industrial area is now home to exhibits, walking paths...
...and just about the coolest sculptures.
For dinner, we ate somewhere American! Us Angelenos found it hilarious that it was named Pasadena.
The eclectic menu included everything from beer to baked goods...
...squid ink pasta...
...even a veggie one!
No patty, though - just eggs.
I ordered a grilled salmon with vegetables - there was some confusion with the waiter so it came out very late, but when it did, it was really good!
Unfortunately, I was not digging this chocolate pizza with brown sugar on top. It was way too sweet, and if you know me, that is something I never say!!!
However, I was a BIG fan of this area. If I ever lived in Taiwan, this is the place for me!
The next morning, we hit the humongous buffet at 85 Sky Tower for our last breakfast...
...I had a little of everything Taiwanese I could find - hot soy milk, peanut rice milk, salted egg, shao bing you tiao, fermented tofu, a couple buns, and a little mystery fruit.
